After sustained internal growth, H2PULSE joins SERMA’s energy department to continue its ascent to new heights
SERMA Energy, a leading player in electric mobility since its creation in 2018, continues its development momentum by announcing the acquisition of the company H2Pulse on Wednesday, October 25th.
Founded in 2019 by Cyril Gagnepain and Christophe Turpin, H2Pulse is an innovative company that designs custom test benches for gaseous and liquid hydrogen and conducts tests for its clients at its premises in Francazal (Toulouse). With a team of 24 employees, its mission is to accelerate the transfer of research advances to the industry in the field of gaseous and liquid hydrogen technologies.
This acquisition marks a significant turning point for SERMA Energy and more broadly the SERMA Group, which is firmly committed to the hydrogen sector to meet the needs of their customers.
H2Pulse shares with SERMA Energy a strong technical DNA, and this acquisition generates strong synergies for both companies. It allows the SERMA Group to develop and enrich its portfolio of offerings in the energy sector with new skills in this promising hydrogen market. SERMA’s strategy is to provide an expertise and testing platform covering all technologies, thus strengthening its position in the market.
H2Pulse brings to SERMA Energy a thorough mastery of hydrogen technologies and associated testing capabilities. The synergies and complementarities of the two companies create new opportunities for growth, particularly for larger-scale projects, both in technical and financial terms, thanks to the power of the SERMA Group, particularly in terms of commercial presence. In the long term, when the hydrogen market reaches a more advanced stage of maturity, it is likely that SERMA Energy will develop a dedicated testing services offer for the hydrogen propulsion chain, similar to what it has achieved in the field of electric mobility.
Already established in Bordeaux, Paris (Lardy), and Spain (Valladolid), SERMA Energy is now expanding to a fourth site in Toulouse, where the SERMA Group has been present for over 20 years. H2Pulse will maintain its presence in the Toulouse region, given the driving role of Occitania in the hydrogen field. The organization and locations of the SERMA Group in France, Europe, Tunisia, and the United States will provide the necessary flexibility to establish operational sites near the relevant markets.
